I spent an hour trying to figure out how they came up with those heats.
1) I converted the 3 mile entries to 1500.One would think this would be how they'd do it but that didn't produce it.
2) I converted none of the times and simply looked at the USATF list of entries (But their the lists Soratos' 3:55 mile as the last auto qualifier) and seeded it that way. That didn't produce the results.
3) I converted the 2 non-auto mile times to 1500 and seeded it that way. That didnt' produce the results.
4) I moved the 3 mile entrants including the auto qualifier to the bottom 3 of the list and seeded it this way. That produced the results. So even though he was an auto qualifier with his 3:55 mile (and has run 3:39 this year), Soratos is considered to be the third to worse entrant.
Why wouldn't they convert the times? Just being lazy I imagine. Do we have possibly have another USATF contoversy?
