I think it's safe to say that when the favorite gets beaten (blown-away) and by someone who runs NCAA all-time fastest (though wind-aided) in 2 events within an hour, then something is fishy. SOMETHING IS FISHY!
These performances were probably aided by more than just wind...
Omg!!!!
I thought for sure we were going to see Bromell set an NCAA record for the win in the 100 and Dukes repeat as 200m champ just barely over Bromell. This guy obliterated everyone!!
It's called "I didn't leave it all in HS". This guy started training with 2 months left in his Senior HS year. Much like Donovan Bailey, who did nothing of note in HS, it is what you do later that counts. There are a boat-load of great sprinters who are destroyed by overly exuberant HS coaches. Brommell is great, but is starting to peak at this point.
Anyone know his previous PRs?
Bolt won't lose any sleep, but De Grasse might be able to challenge Gatlin for the silver medal in Beijing in August and Rio De Janeiro in 2016,
De Grasse-De Janeiro, lol
De grasse, Gatlin, or bolt? Which one in the 200m wins gold at world's. It would be awesome to see de grasse double in the 1 and 2. He could definitely medal in both of them and maybe win a gold in one of them.

You can't be serious neither is a threat to Bolt.
De Grasse was impressive today and Gatlin is running great, but they are no threat to Bolt, Bolt ran 9.58 for shutting down at 60 meters, and 19.19 easing up in a 200.
Notice Gatlin is not racing Bolt tomorrow in New York, Gatlin won't race Bolt in any races except Worlds and Olympics because Gatlin and his manager know Bolt will beat Gatlin easily and hurt Gatlin's marketability.

At the rate Andre's been improving, it wouldnt be wise for Bolt to sleep on this guy. Bolt and Gatlin may be the ones fighting for lesser medals..
Who is he you ask? HE'S A HOCKEY PLAYIN TIMBIT EATIN DOUBLE DOUBLE DRINKIN CANADIAN
Didn't they say he ran his first race in HS in 10.9 in sneakers? Seriously, what a talent.
Did you type this nonsense with a straight face? 9.58 shutting down. 19.19 easing up?? Lmfao. Someone sounds on edge and kinda threatened. Relax, this Andre's moment, not Bolts. Bolt will have his tomorrow in NY.

You do realize that happened six years ago, right?

Only problem is that college athletes like De Grasse are usually geared to peak for the NCAA meet. There's a pretty good chance he won't run anywhere near these times until next season.
Which, isn't to say he can't possibly make a Beijing run -- but it would be HARD. De Grasse has been competing since January and probably has been training hard since October at least. Whereas Bolt, Gatlin, etc. are still on the upswing.
Last year, Trayvon Bromell tried to keep going for another month for world juniors and ran a whole lot worse. A long season takes a beating on your body

There really isn't much competition in Canada so he should easily make both events.
De Grasse is Canadian, and a Junior at USC (JC transfer). His times corrected for legal wind:
9.78/19.60
Which would be one of, if not the, fastest one day double ever done. He already has the Canadian national record at 200 (with a legal wind).
Now get this. He's a beginner. This is only his third year sprinting. What is his potential? 9.57? Who knows.

eh ???
try more like 9.87 / 19.74 basic
still highly impressive
wind speeds shoud be corrected for 0 wind & not 2m/s as in modern enclosed global championship stadiums there is usually nothing more than a breathe of wind
he sure can challenge for bronze this year at 100/200 but will likely come 4th behind justin/bolt/safa over 100 & same over 200 behind bolt/gatlin/tyson
i expect tyson back to 19.6s by peking
