I think it's safe to assume most people have predicted Meb would not win this year's Boston Marathon on Monday. What are the chances the weather could play a factor in helping him? He'll be affected by the same weather but could the favorites have a harder time and shift the odds more in Meb's favor?
Currently, WBZ in Boston is predicting there to be about a 30% chance of rain at the start of the race (10 a.m.) and increasing to about 60% by 1PM. Obviously the elites will be done well before 1PM but there's still a chance even they will get some precip at some point during the race. But at this point it seems like rain is the least of their worries.
WBZ is also saying the winds are forecast to be 15-30mph from the East which of course becomes more of a headwind the last 6.5 miles or so going into Boston. Temperatures should hover in the mid-40s throughout the race.
