It could be a pinched nerve or it could be muscular. The following stretching exercise should tell you and might help. Holding on to a chair with your left hand, bend your left knee to a 80 degree angle--as if you were sitting (but there's no chair behind you). Cross your right foot over your left knee making contact just above the outside of your right ankle. Then push downward learning slightly to the right. It it's a muscular problem, you'll feel it in those effected muscles. If it's nerve, chances are the pain will feel sharp. Good luck.

From the sound of it, I had a similar injury. I strained a group of muscles in the hip area. Stretch the area carefully. It's better if a trainer or teammate stretches you however it can be done by yourself. Lay on your back and bring your right knee to your chest and hold for an 10 count. Then lay your right arm flat so that it's at a 90 degree angle to your body and bring your right leg, bent at the knee, slowly across your body toward the floor for another 10 count. You will feel this stretch hit your sore spot so do it carefully. Another thing you should do is heat and stretch the area before you run and stretch, ice and take ibuprofen after the run. As always get a professional opinion before you heed advice on a message board. Good luck.
