65% of LetsRun says Mo Farah won't get the win.
83% say there will be no WR. 6% think Mo will get the WR. 12% thinks someone else will get it (Yes that adds to 101% but that's what the poll says).
Thanks for the link.
The answers are: No to both.
Farah will run 59:40 in a losing effort.
I don't think he's winning or getting the record but I'm open enough to the possibility I think I'll get up early to watch.
Just before 5am in Lisbon.
It's a bit cloudy and the air is very still, no wind at all - this has been changing by the morning in the past few days though.
A bit too warm though: 15ºC / 59ºF
I figure this is a perfect opportunity to add half & full marathon distances to my times calculator in order to test the accuracy at those extremes. Starting with Mo Farah's actual PRs (as far as I know), here are some predictions:
3:28, 8:04 -> 63:00
3:28, 8:00 -> 61.29
3:32, 8:04-> 60:52
3:32, 8:00-> 59:36
http://timescalculator.appspot.com
*not sure how much traffic this will get while I'm asleep, so I've sacrificed some accuracy for some calculation time: Small change increments in time may not change the results.
3h12m before the start.
The temperature is almost the same, there's no wind at the moment but there are some darkish clouds coming from the North.

are you serious dude? none of those predictions seem remotely realistic. and without decimals on that 1500, you could be way off!
the only prediction that seems realistic is the last one, which you only got by using incorrect times (3:32, 8:00)
why even bother posting this crap?

because he has recently joined a community college and he feels that his numbers game is solid. SO MUCH KNOWLEDGE. NOT.

Link is not working. Well, the whole letsrun website is not working as of now. Forum still working, however.
Those with satellite packages should be able to find it in Portuguese on RTP Internacional. The elite ladies have just started.
I don't understand a word of Portuguese and can't make out who's who. They just showed Farah tying his laces next to some oblivious dad and his baby ... maybe not so oblivious, he's taking a selfie with them.
Aaaaaaaand the elite men are off.
How would Mo Farah stack up against a prime Tadese in a race like the Berlin WC 10000m? I think Zersenay would win that race vs a prime Farah.
I'd like to see Deriba Merga win.
There was a NY City 1/2 where him and a Kenyan went head to head pushing the race the entire way. I've re watched that one once or twice.
I like his style. Obviously a win today in a pipe dream.
what's up with LRC homepage can't get on it. Had to go straight to forums to at least get the thread about the race.
looks like this is going to be an hour of shots of old people walking across the bridge in jeans, and some insert shots of elite wheelchairers. great coverage.
So far the Portuguese are making American race productions look great. 10 minutes in an we've seen, what, 20 seconds of the men's lead pack?
