Really didn't look as strong as expected today. I thought he'd run away with a low 1:44, maybe even 1:43.x, but coming into the home straight he had pressure from a couple athletes and Reisley really pushed him to the line.
Discuss.

You can still watch the race on the stream link:

Just drag the slider to 2:45 or so.
As I said last week, Duane Solomon was way more impressive last year. It's true today the conditions weren't great (windy) but he didn't look that great to me. Not bad, but in less than a month and a half the DL season will begin and to win Doha he will need 1.43 flat.
It's true he was injured last year, but he ended up running 1.42.high so these two races are nothing special. I don't think he will dominate this year.
I didn't expect him to look strong. He's well past his peak already. Barely broke 1:43 last year. Hasn't broken 1:42 since 2012, nearly 3 years ago.
That's how it is with most runners that hit it big young. Aman's slowly declining too. Amos probably hasn't got much of a PR window left.
Post-race recap is here:
We also tell you where to watch the post-race interview
The race is at 2:47:30 mark. Post-race interview at 2:59 mark.

And you don't even mention that lrc poster JRinaldi's athlete Alex Rowe took third place?
I suggest you start taking better care of the quality contributors to this board.

Get back to us after they sweep the WC medals.

You can win a medal without being at your peak.
And elsewhere Asbel Kiprop opened with a 1:44.4.
Rudisha seriously needs to get rid of Tangui. The guy has never been a good rabbit.

I saw that too:

"Pushed to the line"??? Not by Reisley, not by anybody. And I thought Tangui did fine. What's the beef with him?

It's also because Rudisha, Amos, and Aman are several years OLDER than what is claimed. Aman's agent said he thought Aman was actually 24 or 25 - at least - two years ago.

Here's the race on its own - not blocked in the US:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u61-cBi5tcwI tried watching the meet live last night, but got really tired.
They were running late. They were still doing the triple jump at 10:20PST and the 5000m B race hadn't started yet.
Rudisha looked fine and strong at the line. He was 0.3 off of his New York time last June. I'd guess he's in low 1:42 shape by the WCs.

Who said anything about medals? It's not the same Rudisha. 1:40 is history. 1:39 is out of the question.
If you'd said he actually ran 1:41 in New York in 2013 before his injury, you'd have had a point, but it's too late.
