He raced this weekend in the Great Britain jersey. I don't know if every runner had their country's jersey on or if he no longer wishes to represent the Oregon Project.
Discus.

He is still with NOP but wore the British vest after the media attention from that dick head Vernon saying he should have been the European champion as Farah is not British.

He's done this before, usually wearing his British kit while racing in the UK.
Who wouldn't rep their country for a world record attempt? Unless one's national team kit were Adidas or whoever else makes running apparel.
One more thing, Lagat needs some better/custom gear. I think he's earned the right not to have to wear the 2012-era neon Volt garbage 90% of the fields are wearing these days.

I am surprised that Nike hasn't established Coach Li's group as some sort of team by now the same way they have for OTC Elite/BTC/NOP. I mean, they have Lagat, Sambu, Lalang, Abdi, and now Chelanga. I think it's about time they get their own team gear.

Did Andy Vernon really say that?
were you living under a rock this week?

Good point. Chelanga is a new adition though, and Lalang and Sambu are fairly new. So maybe they just haven't gotten around to it yet.

According to reports, Vernon actually said that he (Vernon) should have been European champion when he finished 2nd to Farah at Europeans. That doesn't sound all that outlandish. Farah is from Africa, and lives in the US, except when he's training in Kenya. What's European about that?

Growing up in Europe and being a citizen of a European state.
Yeah, they should get their own team gear. Like what the Kenya national team wears. And yes, I know Abdi's background is Somali.

I'm aware of his citizenship, and where he moved at age 8. I'm sure Vernon was also aware. Personally, I don't care where he's from. Whoever he is, and however he achieved his fitness, he's faster than Andy Vernon. But for "European Championships" to have any meaning, there has to be something "European" about the competitors. If you're not from there, and, after receiving lots of help from your adopted European home country, you're not loyal enough to them to want to live there. how are you still European, other than in a technical sense?

So, what country should me be running for?
*he
No country. Believe me, I have no interest in nationalism, or nationalistic sentiment. But it only makes sense that in competitions that are based entirely around nationalist sentiment, you shouldn't go in and reap the rewards of "representing" a country, region, continent, or whatever, if you have no interest or loyalty to that country, but are only tied to them by a technicality.
Take someone like Bernard Lagat. I have no issue whatsoever with him representing the US, because he LOVES the US. Same with Lopez Lomong. They represent the US, they live here, they embrace this country's values. Farah doesn't even live in Europe. He should feel free to run whatever Grand Prix meets, road races, and whatever else is not tied in with a nationality. Granted, the British federation welcomes his participation, so I don't necessarily fault only him personally. I'm just being realistic. There is nothing European about Mo Farah at this point.

The Daily Mail called, they want you to stop plagiarizing.
But how did he get that British accent?
(PS: Vernon is a dick. He will be remembered for this, while Mo is remembered for awesome running.)
There is more to loyalty and national identity and validity than simply residence. But residence (as part of the year and not legal definitions which I don't know about, since I'm not Farahs accountant not interested bringing auditing to this) is the only talking point you've got, for all your heavy jargon. Maybe he does have some behavior, this or that. But I don't know about it nor have heard about it. Say something substantial people.
The robertsons are still NZ citizens and considered so, are they not?
That Japanese guy w Salazar now, is he considered non Japanese in his homeland? Would you consider him such?
When American athletes train and move to Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, are they considered flakes in their home states?
There is a thing called vacationing, training resources, enrichment, etc.
In that schema Farah can spent residence outside the UK but have his upbringing, continual friends and cultural interests, and reputation tied to England. Is he really slighting British athletics or are they slighting their athletes? Look at the case of Richard kilty and not just andy Vernon, financially. The problem is the system and the bureaucracy. It's not mo Farah. There are many homeland Brits who feel the same way about many of their institutions.
