Seems like he just went in to race, and the event was an actual unpaced race. Didn't lead until after 600 and then took a comfortable win. Nice way to win a post-injury early season rustbuster, especially for a speed-based 800 guy.
Obviously 1:48 didn't demonstrate his ability today. The guy who doesn't get it obviously doesn't understand racing.
