Her recent half indicates 2:25-2:30. LA can be warm and is not a terribly fast course. The US women's elite field does not have anyone who can reliably run under 2:30. The international field has a few who will probably shoot for 2:25-28 for the win. If Sara can beat both the US and international field, she will back $50k. I suspect she will shoot for 2:28 and probably come in around 2:30.
I predict she is tasked with being the rabbit, and keeps running when the field doesn't keep pace, then goes on to wins it. 2:29

She's running 112 MPW now? Hmmm. She has a better chance at placing than her husband does.

I was very confused by her 1/23 Twitter Post until I saw the news today.
Goucher didn't waste any time wishing Sara good luck..if Sara has a great debut and stays healthy leading up to the trials and IF she decides to try to qualify for the marathon, Kara might get displaced by yet another relatively new comer to the distance.
I agree. SH has had a pretty decent year considering all the injuries and time lost she's had to deal with...not to mention a less than mature -IMHO (psychology wise) hubby she's also had to work through. Kudos to her in any event. I hope she does well. Enough of this steeplechase crapola though!
