what does a 1000y time convert to in meters...assuming someone is running about 4min mile pace. If there is a website that has these and similar conversions someone please post a link.

There are 39.37 inches in a meter, 36 inches in a yard. Divide 36 by 39.37 and you get .914. Your answer is 1000y equals 914 meters. To convert meters to yards multiply meters by (39.37 divided by 36) 1.093611.
I can do math, I was wondering what the official (if any) conversions are. Thank you for the third grade lesson though.

Sorry, I'm internet challenged and don't know of any websites that list conversions. To the best of my knowledge, I answered your first question accurately and don't know where 'assuming someone is running about 4min mile pace' fits into the overall pic of your post.
Are you asking what would be the average pace for somebody on 4 minute mile pace at 914 meters/1000y?
If you're good at 3rd grade math, perhaps you could answer your own question!
to make it simpler...if one runs a 2:301k what is an equivalent 1000y time?
Running at that speed (2:30/1K) should be equal to 2:16-2:17 for 1000yds. Running at 4 minute speed one would pass through 1000yds at 2:16.344 then passing through 1000mt in 2:29.13. Is that the answer you were looking for?
No, I was wondering, as I previously mentioned, if there was an official conversion. I have done the numbers myself. Running at 4:00 mile pace one will run a 3:44 1500m but that does not give an official mile to 1500m conversion. That is just doing math.

What makes you think that they don't use real math officially?Dan Craig

The 1000y is shorter than the 1000m, so it can be run at a faster pace, that's why the straight math ratio doesn't work. But it would probably be 2:16ish.
1000m in 2:30.0=830pts
830pts=2:15.1 for 1000y
