Heath dominated. Kiprop just couldn't maintain the pace. Hopefully this is part of an upswing for Ritz, can't wait to see what else he does this year.

Very strong run from Heath and gritty stuff from Ritz, very well done to both. Kiprop looked like he was gliding for the first lap but died once Heath pushed on. I have to say I'm delighted for Ritz, would love to see him make it through the next 12 months strong and into another Olympic team.
For those of you trying to watch it live. Here is the link:
I had trouble finding a link that worked. Mine was 'blocked' for quite some time.
Derrick is taking it to them in the 8k. I love watching him just grind it out. He's got about 10 meters on the field at the 16 minute mark.
#Beast.
Heath pulled away from the field.
Another solid race for Ritz. Has he raced more times in 2015 than 2014 already?

Derrick looks awesome. Riley is looking very strong as well.
Anyone been to the course? It looks awesome and seems to put Terre Haute to shame. It's got water, hills, etc.
How is it for spectators?
Derrick post race.
"I just think the US is really deep right now. I'm happy with the depth from top to bottom," said Derrick who thought the club xc course (the selection race for many) this year was less rocky this year than last.
"Go Stanford."
For those of you with a UK proxy, you might want to watch it on the BBC instead of USATF.tv as USATF.tv has a different audio feed that didn't include all of the post-race interview.

2k loops right? That's the normal set-up at least.
Looks like you can stand in one place and see them come by at two points on the loop. So you can see them 8 times without moving.

Gemma Steel 11th Emilia Gorecka won with Britton 2nd
Gorecka said she was pretty gutted after European xc but she fought with her heart and was thrilled to get the biggest win of her senior career.

Geez what beautiful coverage! That was wonderful to watch. Ritz, Derrick, Heath not only looked so good during the race...but after they looked so good also! Man there must be some proud coaches out there. Our Footlocker girls, geez everyone! Wish them all great health in 2015!
Didn't know Heath was a 2 x Minnesota XC skiing champion til they said it on the broadcast. Makes sense now. Hope he runs world cross.
Leading from start to finish & taking the victory is USA's Morley #GEXC2015

Some redemption from her 3rd place finish at Footlocker! 1 and 2 from Footlocker, were behind Morley today.
Francis Koons making her way back !!!
I've tracked down results for the races. We have full results for all races but the women (just top 10):
Jr races where Makena Morley turned the tables of Foot Locker champ Anna Rohrer are here:

Now it's time for me to get ready for the NFL.
Two last thoughts.
1) That was some real xc at the end. Awesome snowy weather.
2) Seeing the results and hearing Derrick's "Go Stanford" comment, can someone tell me how Stanford hasn't won an NCAA XC title in over a decade (since 2003)?
Stanford runners won the 4k and went 1-2 in the 8k. How do they not win every year?
