I know this probably isnt the best place to post this thread seeing as how people who visit this site are most likely still running, but I wanted to get a feeler out. I spoke with a Dr. today who told me arthroscopy to the knee was my decision. They are not able to accurately tell whether I have a buildup of scar tissue under my patella tendon (unclear in MRI) or whether I am suffering from damaged plica. Either way, the Dr. suggested I think about arthroscopy, but he warned me that the scar tissue that can develop as a result of the arthroscopy could put my running/cycling on hold permanently. He did say arthroscopy was about 65-75% effective. Anyone out there with any added advice on this subject??
