Did the USATF make a stand on Lassiters' pacing of Lagat?
I know that they made some noise, but did they do anything to him? 50 lashes with a wet noodle?

Benedict, is that you?
To answer your question, I don't think that they will do anything. No guts.
You know that Lagat let a couple of bucks slide his way.
Want to send a message and have some fun? At future meets, all Let's Run readers should wave dollar bills and chant "RABBIT...RABBIT...RABBIT" while Lassiter is being announced. If this builds, imagine 50% or more of the crowd at USATF chanting and waving cash in unison.
Then, see how Masback tries to spin that.
What should be done?
It seems like Nike would be upset.
If something was already done, it should be publicised such that anyone else thinking about pulling the same stunt will think twice about it.
Great idea! You know that someone will need to explain it to Lassiter. He'll just think that someone is waving at him.
I see nothing funny or amusing about waiving money while chanting rabbit rabbit rabbit....Do you believe that Mr. Head Man will care about these chants; that your silly noise will distill fear and emabarrasment into Mr. Head Man's heart? I think he should be happy that there is some attention being drawn to the forgotten sport.I'll applaud him on making the finals.

Yeah, let's dumb the sport down some more....."The miracle isn't that he finished....the miracle is that he had the courage to start..."
What do you mean, not funny.
Have someone explain it to you.
Maybe someone could distribute some raisins, or other rabbit food, and the fans could flip them on the track to gum up his spikes.
You young bucks are funny.
I hope that you know that Marbury v. Madison had nothing to do with Benedict Arnold or G.W..
This was the case that established that the Supreme Court did not have jurisdiction in all cases.
Keep up the good work.
And that would be, what, 14 people?
>imagine 50% or more of the crowd at USATF chanting and >waving cash in unison.
Nike upset???? They could give a rats ass. You act like they are concerned about negative press. All press is good press in their eyes. Marion and Tim training with Francis. Last year knowing that they didn't finish a team at World Cross Trials but accepting the championship trophy only to be stripped of the title later. Putting Salazar a terrible coach with drug connections in charge of an elite group of athletes. The list is endless. Keep in mind that as long as the list is Portland Runner has at least that many excuses.
Bro, lay off!
As long as we're wrangling over ridiculous points: while Marbury v. Madison did in fact concern the Supreme Court's exercise of jurisdiction, it fundamentally established the power of judicial review. Any lawyer or student of legal history should know that, History prof.

You folks are right in saying that even bad press the USTF and IOC would like. But it is the principle of the thing. Masback has proven time and time again that he has no prinicples. Fans need to show that his attitude is unacceptable.

Masback is trained as a lawyer. What more could you expect from him. I would think that he would do something about Lassiter just from the aspect that he seems to work against milers,Masbacks' best event. It is like he wants to keep his ranking and make it difficult for anyone else to develop. Last year he had the mile as the last event on the first night and only showed the last 150 m of the race on TV. USATF controls what is on TV because they own the production and take responsibility for the sale of the commercials.
lay off. he apologized, and it seemed sincere. we've all made mistakes and i'm sure that he is/was disgusted with his actions. i highly doubt that he will ever do something to hurt his teammates and country again. rock.
The latest (January) issue of Track & Field News has a short article on the current state of the Lassiter situation.
If someone does something absolutely reprehensible like Lassiter you think they should be automatically because they deliver a half assed apology that may or may not be sincere.
Lassiter disgraced his uniform, his team and his country. He should never be allowed to run for the USA again.
End of story.
I find no consensus.
I something was done and no one knows about it, was it effective?
