I know a few runners here have been confined to the pool for weeks at a time or more. I may be in this situation soon and have some questions.
1. How important is the "aqua-vest" or whatever it's called? I assume it's a sine qua non. Is it expensive?
2. In terms of time spent in the pool, is it generally accepted that there's a 1:1 training correlation with land running? That is, if I run 7:30 pace usually and do an hour in the pool is this a "legit" 8 miles?
3. Heart rate - does the buoyancy factor affect this at all at a given intensity or is tempo HR on the track the same in the pool?
Thanks and Happy New Year,
Willie
