A couple of years ago, when Geb turned 40, I thought that he would break all master records. Didn't exactly work out for him.
Will Lagat be able to hold it for a few more months? When/where is he be opening his indoor season?

It depends on how much of an effort WADA makes.
Don't know, but can hardly wait to find out!!!
"It depends on how much of an effort WADA makes."
Spoken like a jealous masters runner who is about to have his records destroyed by Lagat.
Dude set an American record last year and is easily still in the top five of American runners right now. He isn't going anywhere.
There will definitely be a world masters indoor mile record attempt set up for him at the NYC Armory sometime early in 2015. He shouldn't have any trouble getting that one.
Lagat ran a 4:54 2k this year. It's safe to say the records are toast if he tries.

if i were a betting man, i'd say yes. i have to wonder if he cares, though...
As an accomplished masters runner, socal cush, as yourself why you care. The answer is most likely: love of competition.
3:44.12
3:58.15
8:01.44

If by in the top five you mean the single best distance runner we have!

i didn't mean i wonder if he cares about running still--i meant i wonder if he actually cares about masters records. he may fill out paperwork to ratify any records he sets, or he could be like placentia, who was still competing well at the open level when he ran what would have been the american record for 5k but didn't bother with it...
Next year Lagat will run a sub 13 5000
Not only is he a dopper (busted- A positive- How soon we forget!) but an age-cheat too; these kenyans make up whatever age they want. IN this case Lagat is cheating hard-working American Masters runners out of their titles. He's probably more like 33-36. Just disgusting.
I wonder if it crossed Ed Whitlock's mind to try and get a Canadian meet to run indoor miles for WR attempts, as he is missing on those lists at the 75 and 80 age groups:
lagat american? he was still kenyan at 29/30. in no way is he american in my eyes. he was already a world class runner when he became american

And Arnold Schawzenegger was already a movie star by the time he became an American. It didn't stop him from being the 38th Governor of California. You may as well state that you don't consider dolphins to be mammals.

You got your math wrong. Kenyans have their stated ages lower than their actual age.
By your logic, he attended WSU at age 15 instead of his stated age of 21.

If Lagat was 33, he would've been born around 1980-1981. This means he was an NCAA champion in the Indoor Mile, Indoor 3000m, and Outdoor 5000m at age 17-18, an Olympic Bronze Medalist at age 19-20, and a World Silver Medalist and 3:26.34 at age 20-21.
