He's not eligible to compete for a collegiate team, so no, he couldn't make the CU team. Just as Rupp could not make the current Oregon squad.
I assume you mean the collegiate version of Goucher, not the one who no longer competes.
Considering his best time at Buffalo Ranch is faster than that of any of the current team members, yeah, I would say he could probably keep from getting cut and might even make the traveling squad.

Tiny brain you got there
OP, are you on drugs? CU's domination of Pac 12s is impressive but Goucher would be their #1 man.
There top guy today was 4th. In some ways. have a team of 5 #2 guys and thus are incredible. But Goucher was an ace.
Goucher was a footlocker champ in HS who went on to run 13:10.00.
The only one on the team with those type of bonafides now seems to be Saarel (Yes, i know he did't win Footlockers).

PS. Maybe Moussa based on his HS times. I thought he was going to be unreal coming out of HS so it's good to finally see him doing well.
I don't know, Rojo... When he beat Lagat at indoor nats in the 3K (I think in something like 7:45), it was only by a few inches.
Definitely. He ran 24:12 on the CU Shootout course. CU's top guy this year (Blake Theroux) ran 24:23. He would definitely be challenged for the #1 spot, but no doubt he would make it.
This CU team is sooooo good. I don't think Ritz or Jorge Torres would even be in their top 5 either.
Guys-
While Goucher did run 24:12 at the buff ranch, you really cannot compare times like this. First, and most importantly, if you are an elevation runner you will have tremendous advantages at the buff ranch that may be eliminated or even reversed at sea level. This means spending most of your developmental years at elevation, including in the womb. There are significant physiological advantages here that kids who come up to elevation from sea level will never get. I would argue that even Ritz wasn't great at elevation relatively, however this is difficult to measure because he was already so fast there aren't too many people to compare him with. Second, the conditions play a huge part at the CU home course, making things even more complicated.
While i agree that Gouch would be the Number 1 guy (he won friggin NC's that year...) there are a million better ways to argue that than comparing times from the shootout...
I would have liked to see cranny go to CU, might have reversed the girls scores and the buffs would have won both mens and womens titles.
Jesus H. Christ, I'm rolling over in my grave at your ignorant comment if I were dead. Maybe this is just a bad dream. Why the hell am I dreaming about letsun, I should be dreaming about a dozen virgins on a tropical island. wtf.

"There" top guy? You need some drugs.

Yeah, and if Erin Clark (South Eugene HS grad) had went to Oregon instead of CU, the Duck women not only still would have won Pac12s but would be even stronger national title contenders.
What ifs can work in lots of ways.

I believe the correct saying is, "if its and buts were candy and nuts then everyone would have a merry Christmas."
he could make it
Adam was and probably still is a tough and ornery SOB. He would be their top runner.
would not question his desire to be the best. Jerry Quiller gave him the ultimate compliment about Adam's desire to win. Almost unbelievable.

Goucher led every step of that race, and Lagat sat right behind him. Heading into the last 200m, Lagat started to creep up and Goucher went into freak mode and hammered it home from 150m out. It was awesome. 7:46.03 CR/MR.

Nothing indicates stupidity like interchanging near homophones on a quick internet message board post.
He'd definitely make it, although I don't think he'd be #1 on the team (he'd be right behind Saarel) or an NCAA champion. The depth in NCAA running right now is insane and Adam was the top guy when there wasn't much talent running in the U.S. besides Lagat and Abdi.
Since he finished 6th in the world cross country, I'd say it's a fair bet he could have made his college team
