It's a full olympic distance 1.5 / 40 /10
Alan can build on his last race and stay in the mix.
I think his confidence in the crowded swim will be much higher and he should get out a little further up the field...
if it all comes together on the bike, I got him for a top 20 finish based on increased confidence and an stronger swim finish, I'm betting.. his run at the last world cup was solid, held his place and ran a 30 minute and change for the 10k..
Lukas is totally unknown for his prep going into this race. his twitter says:
"Spontaneous entry to @worldtriathlon #TongyeongWC this weekend for last World Cup of the year on my way to Korea!"
If his swim is not there, will be a quick dnf. if he makes the last group outta the water.. not expecting much more but who knows... I have no idea how his run is but if he is in the last group and the bike is lumpy to hilly, it may be trouble as he can't "sit in". hoping he is fit and can really mount a true comeback that has eluded him thus far.
hoping the best for all of them!
side note. hunter kemper, at 39 years old, is chasing points for another olympic bid. would be his fourth team for the orlando native, wake forrest alum. I beat hunter at the 1992 world champs in huntsville, ontario, canada... we were both on the usa junior national team..
