The #1 men's squad went bonkers today and put 7 under 25 min. That is 7 top 20 times on that course. Generally, sub 25 has equated to better than 30th at nationals.

If by 25 minutes you mean 26 minutes, then yes, your statement is correct.

If by "Rocky Mountain Shootout", you mean "Alumni Time Trial", then those results are correct.
Shootout results haven't been posted yet.
Those results are from the alumni time trial race. 7 under 25 at the shootout today. Results not yet posted
Two teams? This is nothing but a glorified dual meet. Why does CO even bother putting it on?
1. Blake Theroux 24:23.1
2. Pierce Murphy 24:24.4
3. Ammar Moussa 24:28.1
4. Morgan Pearson (unattached/CU) 24:32.1
5. Ben Saarel 24:43.1
6. Jake Hurysz 24:51.5
7. Connor Winter 24:52.9
14. Zach Perrin (unnattached/CU) 25:48
17. Adam Peterman 26:01
If anyone knows this course, that is absolutely unreal
Not only are those crazy times, they could have been even crazier. Pearson ran to the front from the gun -- he had a lead of a few seconds less than a minute into the race -- and had a sizable gap through three miles (14:27 vs. 14:42 or so) before the other three rolled him, and it's not as if he died miserably (10:05 for the last 2 miles of that course is actually pretty consistent with ~ 4:50 pace for the first three).
If this team merely maintains its form and doesn't get bitten by injuries, they will win NCAAs in a blowout.
Here is the official writeup for the shootout-

Sounds like all the times were helped by the best weather EVER for the race.
On the women's side, congrats to Buff Erin Clark for winning in the 8th fastest time ever.
If those times are for real this is the best team ever for CU.
Well above any performance at this meet. Typically there is one and maybe two runners under 25. This is just crazy. The weather was cool today which certainly made it a little faster but this is insane.
Typically running sub 25:30 at this meet sets you up with a vary good chance of being an All-American.

Would make sense if Pearson redshirted this year though and line up one last hurrah with the core of this group next year. Looks like they might be heading that way since they are so deep anyways. Big result from Moussa here, probably his best race as a Buff
We raced in Denver today. Conditions were not bad but they were no where near ideal. We have had three races so far this season with better conditions. Now if race was before 7:30 then I stand corrected but temp jumped from 37- 65 from 7:30 to 10:00 with barometric pressure dropping during this time. Course we ran was slower this year than in last few years. So with Boulder only 40 min away I can not imagine conditions that much better.
Now 65 is not based temp at all but the rising temps made it feel hotter. Those times by CU were smoking under the best conditions. Holy cow!!!
Not probably--vastly Moussa's best effort at any time and any place. Anyone know what's going on with Saarel?

True. I don't know how the process works, though -- could Pearson in theory come back and run varsity for the rest of the season? I guess that's a dumb or at least moot question given that, if that was the plan, he surely would have been in a CU uniform today.
I have been to numerous Shootouts and as good as some Buffs squads of the past have been, none of them is even close to the strength of this one. By all appearances, if Wetmore had asked them to go out and run 24:20 as a team with perfect pacing, five of them could have done it.

We'll we have a saying in Colorado that goes; "if you want different weather wait 30 minutes or go 30 miles".
What are the following PBs on that course?
Adam Goucher
Dathan Ritzenhein
Jorge Torres
Thanks.
Goucher-24:12
Ritz-24:47
Jorge-24:07 (Course Record)
Thearoux, Murphy, Moussa, and Pearson's times are 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th best CU performers of all time respectively.
Very different conditions in Boulder than in Denver then; at 9:16 it was 50 degrees with a dew point of only 37 and light winds (6mph at 10 meters above the ground, so about 5mph at runner level, especially if many trees, and calm before 9am):04 12:16 Calm 10.00 Fair CLR 63 36 37% NA NA 30.13 NA 04 11:56 NE 6 10.00 Fair CLR 63 36 37% NA NA 30.13 NA 04 11:36 N 5 10.00 Fair CLR 61 36 39% NA NA 30.14 NA 04 11:16 N 5 10.00 Fair CLR 59 36 42% NA NA 30.14 NA 04 10:56 Calm 10.00 Fair CLR 55 34 44% NA NA 30.14 NA 04 10:36 Calm 10.00 Fair CLR 55 34 44% NA NA 30.15 NA 04 10:16 N 3 10.00 Fair CLR 54 34 47% NA NA 30.16 NA 04 09:56 N 5 10.00 Fair CLR 52 36 54% NA NA 30.16 NA 04 09:36 N 8 10.00 Fair CLR 52 36 54% NA NA 30.16 NA 04 09:16 N 6 10.00 Fair CLR 50 37 62% 48 NA 30.15 NA 04 08:56 Calm 10.00 Fair CLR 46 37 71% NA NA 30.15 NA 04 08:36 Calm 10.00 Fair CLR 45 37 76% NA NA 30.16 NA 04 08:16 E 3 10.00 Fair CLR 43 36 76% NA NA 30.16 NA 04 07:56 Calm 10.00 Fair CLR 39 36 87% NA NA 30.17 NA 04 07:36 Calm 10.00 Fair CLR 37 36 93% NA NA 30.17 NA
