Yes he did, and it was awesome.
Yes he did, and it was awesome.
He ran the last 700m on pure hate. The first 800 was 2:10
And there are people who complain about slow tactical races. That was better than any rabbited Diamond League I've ever seen.
Anyone have a link to the video?

The marathon this morning was an awesome race as well, far better than any big city marathon I've seen in a while (except maybe Boston).
Wow are we sure he did the whole 1500 on pure hate? Is that possible? I could believe reports that he used it for the last 7-800
He let the rage build for the first 800m.
Then let just a little bit of hate escape for the next 300m
The bell triggered a full blown 100% supernova of hate for the last lap.
The most electrifying man in sports entertainment.
He has a 3:25 in him if he enters full hate mode for the whole race.
Roid Rager
I have the race recorded. Just watched it again trying to get splits on his last lap.
Looks like he broke 12 seconds down the back straight. BEAST

Sounds like you've not seen many Diamond League races
Not at all. Nobody ran an entire 1500. A couple of them ran about 600 meters and Benabbad ran about 550 much faster. It was nice of him to give them a head start. He was being very nice. That's what track's all about. Hug your opponents. Cheer for everyone, even dopers.
He even slowed down at the end so they could catch up a little bit and not be completely humiliated. What a gentleman. That was the 1500 of Brotherly Love.
Sure looked like it, never would have thought that was possible!
LetsRun.com Note: We changed the title of this thread. It was initially titled, "Did Mekhissi just run an entire 1500 on pure hate??"
For the record, he kept his shirt on but did showboat a little bit. The guy was DOMINANT in both races:
Nice bronze for O'Hare:
if he would have taken his jersey off again that would have been the sickest thing ever.
p.s. why the heck did letsrun change the name of the title of the thread, it was perfect before.
here is a video link. but mute the sound.
EPO?
He ran the last 200 in about 26 letting up, but even if he didn't let up he would have run have in the 25's, but last 800 was 1:51 they said? This wasn't that great a run, the rest of the field ran like crap. Europeans have turned into cowards on the the track.
Ha. I noticed that the mascot didn't come out to congratulate him.
