Suicide apparently.
Suicide apparently.
Yeah, that's what the news is saying here in Nor Cal
RIP to a funny,troubled man.
wow didnt evenknow he was sick
Do yourself a favor and lookup his standup comedy. Really great stuff, and one of the most talented improvers I've ever seen.
sad news - very funny and talented man
RIP
Heartbroken. A true comedic genius. We shared the same birthday (albeit 16 years apart). RIP.
wow..thought he was brilliant in Good Will Hunting.
I thought he did a good job in Jaws and Mr. Holland's Opus
Damn. This sucks. I'm a huge Robin Williams fan. I think I still have a cd of his live comedy specials.
Also, I think he ran 1:58 for 800m in high school? Or maybe that's just one of those urban celebrity running legends.
This is terrible. I knew he had periodic bouts with depression, but I never thought he'd off himself. What a loss for his family, but also what a loss for us all. I wonder if he knew how much he was loved. He's the same age as my dad.

Thanks Lorenzo.
Some of you may enjoy this. Inside the Actors Studio.
Such sad news. Enjoyed his work in many things, but he's one of my heroes for Dead Poets. Especially painful to think of him as a suicide in the context of that movie. Never seemed like he was ever entirely comfortable in his own skin - makes RIP particularly poignant in his case.

Agree. He would read the 'Mork and Mindy' script to get the concept and do the show ad-lib.

showing he ran 1:58.8 and 3:22 for 4x400 in high school.
Sad news. Someone who brought so much laughter and joy to others and he was dealing with his own hell.
I didn't know of the running connection.
One of the best actors of my life. I am 38 and I watched him since I was a kid.
On Facebook I see a lot of "what a waste" comments which I find really unfortunate. As if he owed his fans a long depressed life just because people don't want to hear about suicide. Well the guy was depressed as hell and needed to get out. He knew how sad his family would be and did it anyway. He was funny as hell in some things but clearly all screwed up.
Damn, this sucks. I saw him do stand-up live 2 years ago and it was the funniest thing I've ever seen. RIP to one of the greatest actors of our time.
