Don't usually do this, but over the last few weeks I've worked on this ESPN profile on New Jersey-New York Track Club runner Ford Palmer.
I know there were a bunch of questions as to who this random 5th place finisher at USAs was after the race. Just thought I'd give a little more perspective into Ford off the track and beyond the stats that can be pulled up on TFRRS or Tilastopaja.
I wrote a lot for Flotrack, but I'm particularly proud of my work on sharing Ford's story with a bigger audience at ESPN. Definitely want to show the company that stories like this are appreciated and have a large fan base.
Palmer will be racing the mile next week at the end of the World Junior Championships in Eugene, in case you were looking for someone to possibly root for.

A few notes to share that didn't make the final edit:
- Palmer used to play football and train at the University of Delaware Football camp with future Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco.
- He was clocked at 52.9 for his final 400-meters in the semifinal round of the U.S. Championships.
- His only previous on-camera interview was at the Eileen Meagher International Meet in Halifax, Nova Scotia when he took down two-time Olympian Nate Brannen of Canada.
- Palmer's training right now tops at 70 miles per week.
