Not blazing fast for Huddle but a W is a W. What's up with Cory McGee 4:34??
LEER 3:51!!!
This would be a HUGE PR!
Woah!!! Almost every American in the field PR'd! This race was much better than anything at Glasglow, from my POV. Check out the results..
1. Leer 3:51.82 USA
2. Casey 3:52.62 USA
3. Leslie 3:53.44 USA
4. Roberston 3:53.72 NZ
5. Merber 3:54.76 USA

Huddle's 1500 PR is 4:08, so a second off of that for the mile equivalent.
It converts to about a second faster than her previous 1500 PR according to standard conversion formulas. Another great race for Molly Huddle.
I'm aware of her PR but she should still be able to run faster given her 5k/10k times.
I wonder if her training is more geared towards the 5/10 K than the 1500...
Pat Casey is truly having an outstanding outdoor. It's also nice to see Merber with another PR. I suspect his 3:35 college pr will go down soon.

That's how you bring back the Mile, USA. Event & personal records for Will Leer - congrats!

I don't think she goes down to the 1500/mile much. If she raced more than one or two times a season at the distance she'd be under 4:05, no doubt.
How many new USA sub 4 runners so far this year 15?
will 2014 match the last 2 years 23 new members of the sub4 club?
does the USA have 8 more close to 4?

took me about three rereads of your post to understand what you were saying.
another five to realize you were talking about men, not women.
I was at the meet last night.
Perfect conditions for a change in Ireland made for great races.
Huddle was impressive in the mile, leading every step once the pacers dropped out just before 800m, she kept the pressure on, cranking up the pace and burning off the kick of the pure milers in the field.
The men's mile was a great race too. The pacers went out hard (approx 56 through 409m. Ciaran O'L and David McC were the only two to really go with that ( which hurt them in the end)
The rest of the field was a second or two back and gradually caught back up. John Travers from Ireland really went for it with 400m to go and Leer was the only one to really stick with him, passing him in the last 200m and running on to a clear win. Travers slowed after getting his 1500m split (3.37) and a European Champs qualifier but held of for an impressive 3.55. Quite a few guys passed him on the straight for what has to be the best mile in Ireland for a long time.
The men's 800m was good to watch also with English sitting in until 600m and then kicking hard away from the field looking like he was going to run away with it. He held on well for the win, but it was far from secure and a couple of guys made up ground down the home straight.
