Anyone seen any marathon times for to be senate majority leader Frist. It's all over the media that he has competed in marathons and triathlons.
And while we're on the subject, who have been some of are most accomplished track and field presidents/politicians?
No contest - the best ever politician/runner is Jim Ryun.
In the US anyway...Sebastian Coe ran faster than Ryun.
He's better known for martial arts. You may recall the Iron Frist comic books.
RW did a "Brief Chat" with Frist last January, after he'd run the Marine Corps and New York City Marathons back to back as his own patriotic gesture. I seem to recall he was just under five hours in both instances.
Jim Ryun runs in the Nike Capitol Challenge, a 3-miler, every year, and is now routinely beaten by Congressman Bart Gordon of Tennessee, who can still break 17:00.

The Al Gore..Bill Frist 5 hour marathon is nothing to get interviewed for..I mean old ladies can walk it that fast..give me a break..
One thing that's not clear to me is how is George W. Bush finding all these 3 mile races? Are these 5k's that are being reported by the media as 3 miles or is he pulling rank and getting that extra 180 yards lopped off so he gets a faster time?
Frist had important statements to make by running his two marathons so soon after September 11, 2001. So what if he took almost five hours. Not everyone is on the cusp of Olympic status, like the people on these message boards imagine themselves to be. Try to have a slightly larger worldview, if at all possible.
Why was he making a important statement..??..because a wealthy politician ran a marathon..??.....To me thats called a publicty seeker..
