Interesting coach. Thanks for the video.
Nice work.
Just let the kid run.

That is one of the smartest, most fired-up coaches I've seen at ANY level, and believe me, I've seen a few!
Fisher is a major major talent and has an incredible future, which is in good hands for at least another year.
He sounds like an awesome guy. He was also Grant's dad's college roommate/teammate at Arizona State. Grant's dad was a 14:12/30:20 guy who placed 4th in the 1986 Pac-10 XC championshiops. Scannell has a marathon best of 2:16 and is still pretty competitive as a master. Here is an article on Scannell from a few years back when he won the title "Michigan Runner of the Year" (you have to scroll to page 8 for the write-up):

I just reread my post and realized that I did not clarify that Scannell is Grant's coach. I am sure that some people will read the thread before watching the video from the OP's post, so I just wanted to clarify.
I ran a workout with him once. The guys super serious about his training. He scolded me when i didn't know my exact tempo pace.
Does anyone know what Fisher's mileage is?
up
I've heard he is a low mileage guy from a few people. Mid 30s to mid 40s.

I've heard twice that amount.
Who's Grant Fisher?

maybe some day he'll mention it in an interview, until then, we're in the dark

If his own dad and coach have admitted to posting on letsrun, surely someone has to know. According to people on this thread he runs somewhere from 35-90 miles a week, but we can narrow this down.
To the other poster, Fisher is the savviest racer of the class of 2015 and most likely one of the best 11th graders ever who could very well be the best high schooler at the moment. 4:02 and two national titles to his name already.
He has a marathon coach, and is 17 running a 4:02 mile, it's not impossible, but I doubt he's running 35-40mpw, I would think more around 60-65mpw at least, and maybe some 70-75 weeks during his base phase...
