Gibby to UT?
No, Gibby to SUU, according to Nate Jewkes
Not sure you're gonna get fired from UM and be the next hire at UT?
whoever said suu is pulling your leg
They should bring back Ronnie, who only coaches today's sub 3:50 Nick Willis. The guy is one of the most positive, energetic guys I have met in the sport. And that is a long list of folks.
RE: KIP LITTON GUILTY
Why would Gibby get fired? Didn't they nearly win the Big Ten in XC last Fall? He has guys in the National Meet for track. What's the deal?
Perhaps the new head track coach wanted more than just 5k and 10k guys. Gibby is so insecure he hardly races anyone in the 8 or 15 and converts any MD talent into a 9:00 steepler
Is this really true??!! Would be interesting if it is. I remember what many posters said when he was hired. The positives: He would fairly consistently make NCAA's in cross and have a crew of sub 3000 10 km runners. The negative: NO mid distance runners. This is exactly how it's happened. I believe Michigan's best 1500 runner ran about 3:45(and he was way faster than the next runner) and best 800 was about 1:52. That's just not going to get it done in the Big 10.
His training philosophy at WM was take 20 guys who ran 9:00-9:30 3200 in HS and have them run 120-140 MPW at 6:00 pace. Those who survive/don't get injured will run 30:00 or better for 10k.
Not really a good fit for a school like Michigan that need middle distance runners.
Honestly they havent gotten good mid distance because they havent recruited any solid high schoolers. When Gibby first got there the first goal was getting the xc team in order. Now he is starting to recruit more mid distance types. Last year they got mora who ran 4:07 in the mile and this year they are getting a 1:51 800 runner. Two juniors in michigan just went 1:50 so he has his chance now. Also there is fisher, but not sure what he is going to do.
I agree that his primary recruits have not been mid-distance guys, but time will tell whether Mora, Flanagan, Glimes turn into sub 4 guys or sub 14:00. Munley definitely has some speed and is a true mid-distance guy so hopefully he will develop into a solid Big 10 scorer. Any word on whether the OP is right about Gibby…it would seem strange since he's coming off a good year with a Regional cross country title, and good years for Ferlic and Rayyan.
Even if the Head Track Coach wanted Gibby out, is he that powerful that he could fire someone Dave Brandon (the A.D.) personally hired to coach XC/Distance runners? Is the Head Track Coach actually a "director"? Doesn't Gibby report directly to the A.D. as the Head XC Coach or is the set-up different than I think?
Gibby's job is fine. The OP is just a troll probably. He helped pick the head track coach for god's sake.
There is no evidence at all to suggest this thread topic is true. It should be deleted.

No. All xc/track coaches report to the Head of Track & Field. But you may be right about it being difficult to fire Gibby if he was in the AD's good graces.
He IS out as Track and Field Asst. Coach
and where did you get this info?
From Letsrun of course it is the lead post and those are always right
seriously? If I didn;t have better sources than this , I would never post that(at least confirmed by two who would know, they are a little more plugged in than I am.)
