My 1st thought when I started watching a few minutes late: "NOOOOOOOOO Larry Rawson is on. WHY GOD WHY????
My thoughts now: "Can someone in Eugene shoot him please?"
Already even worse than usual.....
say "Historic Hayward Field" one more time.......
Not too many people love Track and Field more than Larry
Everyone has their own list of annoying moments
But I sat next to him on a Train on way back from Penn one year, a really nice, and courteous person.Total gentleman.
"Go down to your local high school track ..."
Everybody in that first heat could run 1:46 according to Larry.
Okay... Doesn't change the fact that he's a dumba**.

almost forgot to mention that kemboi finishing 3rd was an upset
the other guy is clearly reading everything he says
can they talk about the race during the race, rather than talk about someone's life story or how they ran at sec's??? or just say the name of the leader over and over again??? I already want to poke out my eardrums and i've been watching for half an hour
also, its possible to mention more than 2 people before each race... I don't think they realize this...
"A little windy out there, eh?" - McBride
Whoever Rawson is announcing with is doing much worse than Larry.
Yeah, they're both struggling.
FRANCENA Mcrorory, not Amanda or Anita......also did you know (and I quote) "Hampton is in the state of Virginia."

I agree with you. I met him at Utica years ago and thought he was a great guy. I also like when he is doing a meet. Very knowledgeable. I don't understand the constant bashing.
Larry announces to the casual fan, of which there are NONE of in Track and Field
That is what annoys many
I still think his style is friendly and rarely caustic
"...so Oregon will not have a finalist in the women's 800." Other guy announcing, Larry said nothing..............

agreed
I enjoy Larry's commentating.
Well, Oregon has the winner, so not just a finalist, but yeah that's kind of hard to miss.
One lap race is the 400

This. I don't dislike the guy, but he's kind of blind to his audience. Serious runners are pretty much the only people who watch distance races. Prattling about how difficult it is to run 62 second laps for 3.1 miles isn't really insightful. We've all already gone down to our local high school track and run a lap at that pace at some point. We get it.
