NOLIMIT
I'm not surprised by the 9.95 comments. I don't think most people really understand how fast 9.95 is...much like most people don't understand the pace of a sub 2:08 marathon effort.
This reminds me of the post "Running Brave" movie with actor Robby Benson. I recall Benson jumping in a local road race (shortly after filming the movie), and dropping the hammer during the first mile. Ofcourse, Benson ended up running a respectable effort, but not exactly a "Billy Mills" type effort. At that time I figured Benson had a greater understanding of the pace Billy Mills actually ran his 10k in 1964 (perhaps for at least the first couple minutes or so).
I see a bit of the same thing with this thread. "9.95 for Bennett? Hey, so what....it's pretty close to 10.18 legal, and right at 9.95 with a big enough hurricane wind"...
...then again, I was watching same Vikings game yesterday, and one of the announcers made a comment referring to a late hit..."he was out by a yard and a half before that guy hit him"...a yard and a half? That would be 4.5 feet, but during the replay it was more like a half foot tops.
Perhaps these guy's just stretch actual fact a little bit...
What time are the Raiders playing today? Give me old time Raiders broadcaster Bill King any day....
Happy Holidays!
