Brooks Launch, on my 8th pair. They're legit. They're good for easy runs, long runs, tempos, speed work, you name it. And they last up to 1000 miles! And are only 90-100 dollars. They've remained unchanged since 2008 for a reason.
If you are looking for something reasonably priced that lasts forever... and I mean forever, like 1000 miles. Is firm but cushioned and feels fast yet protective I'd go for the Adidas tempo 5 or 6, 5's seem a bit longer lasting for some reason.... excellent shoe that can be picked up for around $60-70. I run 100 mile weeks in them, everything from tempo's to long runs and road and trail. I just hope it doesn't get 'boosted'.
I second the Brooks Launch. On my second pair and it is my daily road shoe.

Will be boosted in the fall, get as many pairs as you can now.
nike pegasus
Adidas Boston's 3 or 4
NB 890v4
Both great shoes. NB is a bit softer, but lighter. The Boston is more responsive and will last longer.
I really like the Launch too, but not more than the shoes above. The NB and Adidas feel like a faster everyday trainer.
