Mizuno Wave Rider, either 16 or 17. I didn't want to like them due to the "technology" but after running in the Pegasus, Adidas Supernova Glide 5, and Saucony Triumph I realize that the Mizunos are the ultimate neutral shoe. Why?The 16 feels light, even if it isn't super light (the 17 is actually "light" though)It does not have a bulbous heel like many traditional neutral trainers. It has a traditional drop but does not force you to land on the heel or alter your gait.It is very well made...the upper is incredibly high quality. It is stiff enough for tempo runs and even to race in.It looks cool. In my area I almost never see people wearing them...they always have NB or Sauconys or Asics on.While totally neutral, the wave plate has a stabilizing effect that I find helps me during long runs. The wave plate also seems to propel me forward. I generally run 0:10-0:20km/min faster with the same effort during easy runs.

I'm looking for a neutral training show to rotate with the Brooks Ghost 6. I really like the Ghost and would like to get something relatively similar. I've run in Asics and Adidas in the past and I've liked the Cumulus and the Energy Boost. What would be the best shoe to complement the Ghost for regular training runs as well as some workouts? Ideally the shoe would be relatively light.
