i think her 3 chicago wins are in the years her results will be annulled.
holds "white" record for 5k with ?14'23
she really shouda gone 29'50/29'55 soon after but skipped straight thru to M
it looks like that wouda been just a mark awaiting erasure if she had run it...
there was a thread yesterday predicting a major drug bust- I wonder if this was the one he was talking about.
well this doesn't give me any confidence in the quality of the drug testing at the marathon majors.
She ran lots of majors and was never caught til the passport.
Wasn't she the one who ran faster than the men for the last 5k of Chicago? Not sure.
epo still only has an ~ 48 hour detection window
it's not testers fault that technology is not advanced enough
we haven't cracked nuclear fusion for energy or the reimann hypothesis either...
Unsurprising. Russians have no morals. They care nothing for sportsmanship or fair play. Russia and Turkey should be banned from international competition. 2 years is not long enough of a ban. Wasn't the iaaf going to make it 4 starting in 2014?

Yes, that was her. No red flag there at all. All her results from 2009 on are gone. She started marathoning in 2009, so she can be pretty much completely erased from the marathon books. She'll lose all her race titles and her two WMM titles, but not much chance they'll get that $1 million or any of the other money back, I'd guess.
This is a great day for the sport. Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved with the biological passport system.
Six fastest Russian Female marathoners all managed by Andrey Baranov. Where did he learn his trade - from another dirtbag Hussein Makke. Hopefully he is the next to go down.
what is this nonsense about 4y retrospective erasure ???
on that basis, if someone can slip some dope into maloofi's OJ, then leo will be declared olympic 1500 champ !!!

I think it's different with Olympics. See Justin Gatlin, Banned in 2006, but nobody touched his gold medal from Atnens 2004.
IAAF need to grow a pair and actually something.
First, ban her for life. No discussion.
Second, fine her for all winnings she has ever made from athletics. No discussion.
Third, ban her coach for life plus fine him for all winings he has ever made from athletics. No discussion.
Fourth, ban her manager for life plus fine him/her for all winings they have ever made from athletics. No discussion.
Fith, fine all of her sponsors for about 2 million dollars each. No discussions.
Sixth, try find out from coach, athlete, and manager how they doped, which doctors they used and whether there were any other athletes involved. Use interrogation and torture methods if required, none of this sissy court-room rubbish.
Seventh, once the information from above is achieved, go after the other parties involved and apply the same force.
The doping problem in track and field would be cleared up VERY quickly if such methods were applied but for the moment, the sports governing bodies do not want to do anything about it.
they've been scattering the rules to all 4 corners of the earth last coupla years
what are they now ?
is there mileage in hiring someone to go find maloofi & drop in some crushed winstrol tablets into his OJ when he's not looking ???
"she was chosen under the Russian system to attend one of the Specialized Children and Youth Sports Schools of the Olympic Reserve"
So which sub 2:20 females are clean?
This ban will be lifted. Shobukhova will appeal with the CAS. She will argue her genetic blood profile is messed up, always has been. Her doctor will confirm.
With blood passport there is no proof, just "strong evidence". The courts have always ruled that this is never enough to ban someone from their profession.
Nothing to see here, unfortunately.

NOT this time. Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction.

what makes this time different?
Her ban will not be lifted or reduced. The decision to ban her came from the Russian Federation, most likely after already hearing her (and her doctor's) appeal.

The ban is backdated to January 2013 for two years so she is cleared to compete in next years World Championships.
Why did it take 16 months to make the ban public????
