How long after having wisdom teeth out can one return to running without risking making it worse (infection, dislodged blood clot etc.). ?? Thanks!

I had all four of 'em yanked on a Tuesday, spent Wednesday sleeping off the effects of the drugs, did an easy jog on Thursday, and ran ten miles hard on Friday. Honestly, I thought the worst part was the worn down feeling I had because I couldn't eat a regular diet (no solid food).
what's usually the primary reason for getting your wisdom teeth pulled? other than making your dentist wealthy for putting you through an excrutiating amount of pain.
I just had mine pulled and I took two days off...I think thae thing I hated was tahe bleeding the next couple of days...but it was not bad...
Cause you can't go on ships or subs with them :)
I ran about 5 miles a few hours I had my upper wisdom teeth pulled. I spat blood the whole way. I had these yucky red blood-soaked wads of cotton in my mouth. I think I was fine the next day. My jaw was all swollen, which was really embarrasing. No infections/complications.
I'm pretty sure I ran the next day (the surgery was in the morning). I still felt a little groggy and sluggish (as someone else said, I hadn't eaten anything in 24 hours), but not too bad. It probably took me 2-3 days to get back to "normal."
all depends on how badly they're impacted. I've got some freakishly rooted teeth...the doc had to break them up and dig the pieces out. couldn't eat any solid foods for ~5 days. didn't run for ~7 (and that was a bitch). granted, my experience is probably equivalent to your worst case scenario (assuming you don't get an infection). i've known people who had it done and went 10 the next day. hope you're as lucky as they were.
The dentists at the Navy Hospital in San Diego took out 4 of my wisdom teeth - they tried showing them to me, but only counted 3 in the jar - then they got me the hell out of there because they were embarrassed - never found out if I swallowed it or what. Then my roommates tried stealing my Percocets.
The best wisdom teeth removal stories are the guys who got them yanked in boot camp in San Diego - they would have to walk back to the barracks with a permission chit while they were doped up, their cheeks were swolen, and blood and slobber would be dripping all over the front of the uniforms. Then they would have to salute a drill instructor who would try not to laugh. One guy in my company also got shit on by seagulls on the shoulder. He was walking over that stupid wooden bridge back to RTC and he looked like he was going to jump. Ahh..good times.
Also it depends on how your roots are. My dentist said to avoid running right after b/c if your spit too much, you can screw up the healing process. I had 5 taken out, and I took a couple days off b/c you are so out of it and it feels really weird.
FIVE wisdom teeth?
Eye, Captain, you heard correct. Only a small percentage of us freaks have more than four. I had six taken out at once. They are called supra-maxillary wisdom teeth - or something similar.
I ran the next day, had to go a little easy, but still ran
I ran the next day(after having 4 removed)...interval workout of 800's on the track, I chose to run, but couldn't spit because it would open the stitches holding the cavities shut, so I had to swallow some blood.
Felt kind of tired but still had a good workout.
Had two pulled, became infected head spinning, antibiotics, pain killers thought I was dieing, 7 days later till I felt human again.
just don't race the weekend after, I did and it wasn't a fun experience. easy running after a day or two is fine.
