For people who wear different shoes for different runs, do you see benefits for doing it? Or, do you think you do it because you're into running and enjoy buying different kinds of shoes and gears?
I've been running exclusively with Asics Piranha's sockless, and loved them. However, it looks like they've discontinued them in the US, so I've been scrambling to find a replacement. I've tried every racing flat out there and all barefoot like shoes since I thought I would like them since I like the Piranha's, but couldn't find any. Then, I tried the Skechers Gorun, and so far, they've been very good. I got curious with Skechers so I tried couple of other shoes by them, but I didn't like them, but mostly because the fit was bad due to needing different sizes. But, now I'm thinking, since I like the Goruns, what's the need to wear other shoes? I can wear Goruns for races, long runs, intervals, tempos, and easy runs no problem.
I feel like I'm just wanting to try other shoes just because I'm into running and like trying different shoes, but I don't really find a need to wear more cushioned shoes for long runs, or lighter and firmer shoes for intervals and races.
So, do you really find a need to wear different shoes? I can only see a need for everyday running shoes and shoes for races and fast workouts. This is for just road running. Not for track or trail running
