I'm running a 5k this weekend on the track and I was curious if anyone ever wore them for 5k. They work good for 3200m and down for me, but I've never worn them for anything higher than that distance. Any advice on these would be great. Thanks.

While I don't personally wear them, I know of many people that run all their races in the victory. The only reason I've never done it is because I have a pair of matumbos. It's a personal preference thing, so if I were you, I would probably just try it once or twice to see if you like it.
Would not recommend it, the 3/4 plate of the Victory 2 would be uncomfortable over 5k and put a fair amount of strain your calves.
If you can get a pair of Matumbo's (the original or the 2, doesn't matter) from a friend or even a store if you feel like spending the money then that would be a great option.
If Matumbos aren't an option for you than run in your XC spikes.

Okay thank you. I think I may just end up wearing my flats. I have a pair of XC spikes, but I have yet to wear them.

How much training do you do in them? Why would an extra mile be a deal
breaker if you're accustomed to them?
I have worn them in a few workouts, but only for short workouts. Only a mile more shouldn't make too much of a difference.
