The Hasay Grunewald thread is kind of long already. Let's get a blank one started.
How about the quote from Marc Davis - the American record holder for road 5k who is likely to lose his record today.
"I was telling people last night I felt the same as I did before my wedding night. I'm going - no disrespect to my beautiful wife - to wake up and feel like a little bit less of a man."
So classic.
How fast did Verzbicas said he run today?
D.O.C. quote...WTF??
Is the live feed incredibly choppy for others (even in low quality mode)?
The audio is low, for me
who the heck is that idiot of an intervewier on the live feed? Toni Reavis? I have no idea - but he's the worst interviewer I've ever seen. He rambles on an on and then answers the question for the athlete before starting all over again. STFU and let your subject speak, you assclown.
TR: "Brenda, I see that last year you did a and b and c. How did that go for you? Was it x or y or z? Because I noticed that you often do y but not z. Which is it?"
BM: "Well, I..."
TR: (interrupts) "How did you go from doing training x to training y? Was it that last year you did a and b and c? or was it that you did j,k or l?"
Through 3K in 8:50
Hasay is off the back of the pack!
Julia something-Dale from the UK is gapping the field!
One more U-turn to go!
Side note: couldn't such a major race have a course with less U-turns?
The officials are panicking because the do not have a British flag for Julie something-Dale to strutt around with after she wins.
Debate: should competitors bring their own flags. I say yes. Discuss.
Who is this Brit??
Bleasdale destroys! So smooth! http://vimeo.com/84537025
15:04 unofficial.
Sidenote: railroad tracks in the last 100 meters? what the hell.
Hasay takes 7th.
BMart looked solid with a 15:24 for 4th.
Still I think she is exaggerating on those training logs.
Cracker performance for Bleasdale. Worth low-14:40s on the track.
So you're saying an American passport has no value?Weird.

My feed is great.
Great run for Beasdale.
1st mile 444.
3k 850ish
2 miles 936.
3 miles 1433.
Pretty special for martinez as well. 1544 last year, 1524 this year. To think she's able to beat hasay and grunewald at 5k is amazing.
Martinez: "Today I was just going to go test my strength. 4:42 for the first mile. My plan was to hang with the lreaders as long as I could.
I'm training so hard.
I want to keep a tradition going and try to lower my time every year."

Now we get to watch 2 africans win
Some guy wrote something like that. I deleted it as it was so borderline racist and negative.
Bet he feels like a moron.

I want to do that morning run.
What time does lagat have to run to break the American road race 5K record?
