I bought a pair of Skecher Ride 3. I've been running in the Nike Free for the last 4 years. The Ride 3 feels very similar to the Frees. Do Skechers make real running shoes or am I setting myself up for an injury?

I haven't worn them myself but they get good reviews and seem to work for Meb.
Not only are Skechers legit, they are the most legit shoes out there. I have been running in go bionics for the last year, usually between 50-60 mpw, sometimes more, and I haven't had a single injury. And furthermore, I am rather injury prone at 5'11" 195 lbs. Before that I was running in frees, which probably helped me to get used to more "natural" running
Hey, I didn't see your post until after I updated my Skechers post.
I really like the Ultras, but they are too heavy for intervals or racing (9.5 oz in size 9.5). I'll let you know how I like the GoRide 3 in a couple of weeks.
i got the go ride 2 to try out, and i really liked them.
very lightweight/flexible
not so thin that your feet hurt running on roads
i got 610 miles on mine, as a 135 lb dude who heelstrikes
i haven't bought another pair yet, but if I saw some on sale I'd go for it.
anybody have good deals?
Yes. I do tempos and steady state in the GoRun2 and easy/long runs in the GoRun Ride. Never could be happier. The way these things are constructed is just dead simple and that is the greatest compliment I can give a running shoe. No extras, no gimmicks - just cushion without being too soft and an upper that hugs without constriction and they are super light too.
Altra's are the best shoe out there.
I run in the Ultras. I'm 64 with a lot of miles on my legs. I use to have stiffness at the end of my runs but not with these plus the soreness isn't there after workouts. Best shoes I've worn in over 20 plus years. The only drawback is I had to buy ShoeGoo again because there is no hard rubber outsole, just blown rubber midsole. No big deal.
Never owned a pair, but I know they consulted with legit science guys in development.
