Thanks for the confirmation man, I was afraid of that.
Are the comparable?
They merged the Elixir and Precision into the Sayonara.
Though, the new Rider is under 10oz and might be really close to the Precision.
I think I'm going to go to a running store so I can try them on. The last pair of riders I had were too stiff. Think I'll have to get fitted by a 20 year old expert and pray they have my size.
I think Quizno's just announced their bankruptcy a few weeks ago?

I wore Precisions for years, got wind they might be discontinued, bought a few pairs, but I finally had to make the switch to the Sayanara (or however you spell it). I haven't been impressed. The fit, which I loved on the Precision, just isn't right, resulting in a nasty blister on the arch of my foot of all places. Comfort level just isn't there. Can't completely pinpoint the difference, but I do know the next shoes won't be these.
The Rider 17 is very light and fits a lot more like the old Precision than the Sayonara does.
For a shoe outside of Mizuno that resembles the Precision quite a bit, try the Adidas Boston. Firm, narrow, prominent heel counter, all features the Precision was known for.
I've worn the Boston in the past, and while I didn't hate the shoe, it seemed a bit heavy and clunky to me. It's been a while since I tried it though.

This is what I was worried about. I wore Adidas before the Precisions so I think it will be wise to try them both again.
Same thing happened when I switched from Adidas, they just stopped making the model of Adios I loved and it took a year to find something that worked.
The latest versions of the Precisions and the Adidas Boston or Tempo are very different shoes imo. The last Precisions had a wide toe box and soft cushioning. Not words that you'll hear anyone utter about the Boston or Tempo. In the Adidas line, I'd say the Boost is closest to the Precision.
