because it's the 60m...most of these trolling message board rats are distance types.
Actually two of them (Maslak).
White sprinters >> white distance runners.
Been that way for a long time.
Or maybe because not all of us are racists. I think the fact that he made the UK team as an alternate is far more interesting than his skin color.
Not "finally" a white champion. Maslak (400 meters) earned that honor by about an hour.
6.49 is a great time. When he ran 6.61 indoor he ran 10.10 the next outdoor.

He's going sub 10 this summer for sure.
Umm...he just won world indoors in 6.49, of course he is going sub 10. I bet he's gunning for 9.80.
Only if Mo Greene gave him 'tips' after interviewing him for TV.. Kilty did say he was his hero though.

I've never seen him run outdoors. Is he the type who finishes strong? If so, a 6.49 certainly wets the appetite, like Dasaolu's 6.48 => 9.91 last year.

Not all of you, just a lot of you. And I agree. This shows that Dasaolu and Kilty should have been on the team from the beginning. Chambers needs to go home. His being there almost lost Britain the gold.
Sounds like he is dead on for 10.00 or just sub-10.. can we extrapolate his 60m splits with his best last 40m from 100m? I'm guessing they'll be doing that in his training camp. Add Gemili in the mix and we have a great little GB battle going on. Maybe Chambers for the relay, and we could be strong there too. His aim has to be Lemaitre's 100m PB, right? Although, first Pickering's. But this is merely a side-note to real competition.
Kilty also has a great reaction time, with consistent 0.120 today, getting that winning margin over Bracy and Ogunode. He even beat Carter's 0.129.

Lol, thanks for that. Won't make that mistake again.

I was buzzing for Euro's and CWGs this year; and now I'm buzzing for the Euro Indoors next year. If Dasaolu hadn't gotten injured, he would have at least equaled the European record (6.42) in Sopot. Now, with another legit 60m man in the camp, I think Kilty can push James to take Greene's 6.39 as early as next year.
I cried. We've been waiting for this for so, so long.
here is the race

Keep in mind that Bracy has not run sub-10 yet (a lot younger, of course). And while Lemaitre ran 6.55 and sub-10, Simone Collio ran the same 60 time but didn't come close to sub-10, really.
In the 100m, the real race starts at 60. Where the 60 is mostly about acceleration and you can do well with a lot of weights and plyos, the 100 is more about max velocity, speed endurance, and relaxation in the last 20. The normal projections work for some people and not for others. As with Kiryu, the doing is usually harder than the projecting.

Last year he ran 10.10 (0.0) with no wind during what was probably his last meet of season (end of august).
His previous PB was done at the begining of the season with 10"23 (1.4). This means that he dropped (when counting the wind) 0.2s on his 100m in roughly 3 months .
This led me to believe that by using anecdotical evidence that his 10"10 is more in relation with is 6"49 than the 6"61 (which is more related to the 10"23 that he ran early).
Yeah, I think his aim will be simply to break sub-10. Dasaolu's 9.91 seems a little bit off so far - maybe 0.05 at least.
Note that he is not the first white sprinter to win 60m WIC
A Greek won the 60m at 1997 WiC by running 6"50 but he never went faster than 10"15.
Morne Nagel (South African) has a 6"48 PB but never went faster than 10"10 over 100m.
Last year an Italian sprinter made similar drop in 60m and was World-leading (6"51) in the distance until he got narrowly beaten by Vicaut and Dasaolu at indoor Ech, the last meet of the winter. He didn't manage to run faster than 10"10 in the summer.
Oddly enough there are plenty of white guys who ran in the 6"48-6"52 range but Lemaitre who is head & shoulders above in the 100m isn't one of them. Kilty is very "bulky" and even though I don't know his height, looks short.
