I'm aware of his best times. And they are indeed great. But its been 5 years now. Is it just because they dont have another well known pro runner?
Why?
Because New Balance is a brand that demonstrates loyalty and long-term relationships with athletes, rather than dropping them at the first hint of a downslide.
Remember when Nike stupidly dropped Meb right before he PRed, placed 4th at the Olympics and asserted himself as America's dominant marathoner year after year under Sketchers?
Think of New Balance as the opposite of Nike in terms of loyalty and long-term thinking.
I love my Baddeley 1400s.

Those are David Torrence's PRs. Nike is more likely to drop Torrence than name a shoe after him.
The answer is because New Balance has no one else on the men's side to name a shoe after. Who do they sponsor?

Umm, no they are not more loyal than any other shoe sponsor. They've dropped a few. They just keep them on their online team roster long after they are dropped.
