And how about serious U.S. hockey fans....is a gold medal or the Cup a bigger deal?

Probably.
There's a Stanley Cup winner every year. There's an Olympic winner every four. What do you think?
The Cup.
CUP > MEDAL
no question.
The NHL players union pressured the league to shut down for two weeks so some of their players could be in the Olympics. Boston allowed Zdeno Chara to miss two games so he could participate in the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
It's all about the Gold, my friends.
The Cup is all that matters -- they're earned by teams. Flipping a few guys together every 4 years and calling it a national squad ain't the same thing.
Considering how lackluster USA played in bronze game, they cared about gold and nothing else. Isn't melo's medal at the bottom of a lake? Same idea
One look at the faces of those vanquished by the Canadian team says it all....gold is what's it all aboot.
The Cup. Even as a fan, I was up at 5 a.m. this morning to watch the gold medal game in Edmonton, and I couldn't help but wish I was watching the Oilers, round 5 game 7.
Where is the evidence of the Jury of Appeals decision? I don't see how it's possible that new evidence was introduced. I'm not arguing for or against any athlete here... I'm asking specifically about the appeal, were they followed? One reason for a lengthy and detailed rule book is TRANSPARENCY. Why hasn't Salazar already provided an interview to clear things up? What a sneaky low life... If I were one of his athletes right now I would be feeling very uncomfortable being associated with this guy. Am I asking for a lot here? Where's the new evidence and what exactly caused them to change their minds?

Uh, there was no gold medal game in Edmonton this morning.
