What are some suggestions?
I'm not sure if a super light weight racer is in order, but then again I dont want a training shoe either.
Any stories of success/failure?

bump as i am interested in racers for these distances as well.
OP i'm currently a big fan of the Adidas Hagio (an adidas rep posting the boards awhile back said they stopped selling it in the US, but i recently saw them back on Eastbay...want to look for a replacement in case they go away though). 6.1oz & very light. i've heard some people say they wouldn't wear them for anything but 5K-10K, but i've worn them for a road 10K and two half marathons and had no issues (and i consider myself somewhat injury prone). i keep a second pair that i wear for track workouts, love 'em for anything from 1Ks to 4-5mi tempos.
asics hyperspeed, I forget what version I use I think its 4
bumping this because I'd like some feed back as well, and it's an actual thread about running.
Nike Streak LT. They're pretty light, but substantial enough that your feet don't hurt in a half.
The Adidas adios gets good reviews.
Brooks ST5
Asics DS Racer
Saucony Fastwitch
Mizuno Wave Musha
Is the Streak LT enough shoe for a half? I was thinking of waiting for the Streak 5 and use it for a spring half and fall full.
obviously evveryone is different -
for 1 mile to 5k I use streak xc
from 5k-10k I use NB 1400
from 15k and up I use adidas adios boost
these threads are tough to get anything from b/c everyone is different.

I think so, but I do train in them so it might be a big jump if you're used to more shoe. FWIW I've done halves in Piranhas and Streak XCs/LTs, and the Streaks were much better.

For me, I always prefer a light weight racing flat...regardless of the race distance.
Saucony Type A5. Nike Zoom Streak LT is also good.
I've raced 5k, 10k, 15k and the 1/2 marathon in the New Balance 1400. Currently train in NB 890v4 for slow runs, NB 1400 for speed/track and Nike Free Run 5+ for everything else.
