My wife and I take turns running for an hour in the morning before we get the kids up for school. For safety reasons mostly I'm wondering if their is a watch or something that would allow me to see her live/current location when she runs. Do any GPS watches have that capability? I don't have a smart phone so I want to avoid apps or anything.

This is the only watch available that can offer real-time tracking. And it's not available yet.
You can accomplish something similar using Endomondo or similar apps on a phone with GPS.
Apple offers a "Find Your Friends" app that gives current position.
Your best bet would probably be to buy a smart phone and find an app that does this. The price difference probably wouldn't be that much.
Running is the time when you get to be away from all of that crap. Don't do this.
Sounds like trackcoach is afraid to let his submissive wife run free for 1 hour.
Garmin 220 or 620. Has blutooth and together with an iPhone (yes, you will have to carry both iphone and Garmin) you can live track a runner.
Because of blutooth 4.0, this won't work with the (shitty) Android phones.
Guy just wants to know what his wife is doing. It has nothing to do with running.

This is what my wife uses. I have heard there are dedicated iPhone apps that work fairly well also.
Road ID has an app that I've recommended to anyone who runs carrying an iPhone. (I don't think they have a droid app yet)

That's what I've used during some trail races. I carry my iphone and the wife uses her iPad to track me.

It looks like an iPhone might be the way to go. Whoever said the price of a Garmin etc. is the same as a phone is probably right. I was originally wondering if the Nike Fit Bands had this but I don't think so.

I have it and use the lockscreen. I haven't actually tried the ecrumb on a run, but playing around with it at home, it seems to work.

I got my wife a Nike Fit for Christmas and No, it does not do this.
My wife will run with her iPhone and the Nike Fit. Most wired runner I know. I don't track her but I may have to play with the Find a Friend app mentioned in this thread.

They make these for hunters who are spread out and need to know each others location in real time. Search for "Garmin Rino". Handheld, rugged, no data plan or monthly bill needed, etc.
