That knife cuts both ways.
I'm really amazed at the unbelievably low intelligence displayed on that page... we wonder why our country is falling behind...

A&E knows the Robertsons are Christian. They can't be surprised by his views. He thinks homosexuality (& various other sex acts) are a sin and immoral. So what? With all the trash that is allowed to air, including people spouting their support for murdering babies, THIS is supposed to be suspension worthy?
If a Muslim has stated their views on homosexuality - they prefer killings gays as opposed to viewing it as a sin - A&E would never has suspended them. Christianity is the one religion the PC police feel comfortable bashing.
Glad to see people taking a stand. After a while, enough is enough.
You gotta love the way America bought into these guys' act hook, line, and sinker. They're about as hillbilly as Larry the Cable Guy.
I think A&E has handled this poorly. If he should be suspended for anything it is because he violated the contract he holds with A&E. If there is nothing in the contract that restricts his commenting then A&E is in the wrong otherwise only then is Phil wrong.
It's obvious there was an article about him because he is Phil in a TV show and not Phil from the Bayou. It really comes down to the contract...

what???
Of course the beards are "for show". Most of the shows are semi-scripted, anyway. I don't hear you complaining about how phoney push-up bras are...
Most fans of the show identify with their family and moral views, not their camo. I have never met someone who said, "Man, Jace (Jase?) had an awesome duck call!" But, I have talked to plenty of folks who said, "It is nice to see the family pray together over a meal at the end of each show."
most contracts (or employment in general) usually state something that boils down to "if you do something stupid that could embarrass us a company we can fire or suspend you"
it would be SHOCKING if A&E didn't include language to that extent in such a huge contract with people who obviously aren't the most PC
You can lose your job at any time for saying stupid things. Employment is not protected under free speech rights.
I have never seen the show. Did people watch it to laugh at hillbillies? Was there more to it? If the major appeal to the show was that it was about hillbillies , why are people surprised someone on iit has a problem with homosexuals?
I am guessing that A & E needs the Ducks way more than they need them. They could easily take their business elsewhere. And laugh all the way to the bank.
Who cares what they said? I do not.

Being a Christian is not a license for intolerance (and while I'm not a Christian, I am sure most Christians would be offended by the suggestion). Sure, you can say what you want, but if what you say offends me, do I have to give you a platform and pay you for it? I don't think so.
the power of Dumbfukistan is not to be underestimated.
this is how 30% of the US thinks/feels, which in and of itself is disturbing. But this is what the inbred slackjaw morons want, so I say give it to them.

OK then, the beards clearly are BS just for the sake of the show. Is it possible the religion is equally for the show? As you state, people seem to eat that shit up.
