it'scertainly not going to be easy. Beat Ghana, and get a draw in one of the other games and we've got a chance.

H or F is the easiest. G by far the strongest.
0-2-1 or 0-1-2?
Germany = guaranteed los
Ghana = probable tie
Portugal = probable loss, possible tie.
shhhhhhhhhhhh do you hear that??
thats the sound of nobody caring about soccer. Please find a more popular sport to follow
thanks
Stick talking about something not being popular? Look in the mirror, buddy. Look in the mirror.
D is strong also, B as well. What make US group tough is the travel - 8866 miles of travel to be precise. Plus the conditions - biggest change in all the groups in terms of weather. Take the day, be upset - and then figure out how to win the group. Never forget, we're good too. Ghana can't really knock us out for a third time. Portugal struggled until Ronaldo came through. Much rather be here than Uruguay, Italy and England - that's a virtual no hoper.
E looks quite easy too. I don't think the Swiss merited a top 8 seed. I'd look for conspiracy theories on Platini getting France in that group.

I added the current (Dec 6) FIFA rankings for everyone:
Group A: Brazil (10), Croatia (16), Mexico (20), Cameroon (51)
Group B: Spain (1), Netherlands (9), Chile (15), Australia (59)
Group C: Colombia (4), Greece (12), Côte d’Ivoire (17), Japan (48)
Group D: Uruguay (6), Costa Rica (31), England (13), Italy (7)
Group E: Switzerland (8), Ecuador (23), France (19), Honduras (41)
Group F: Argentina (3), Bosnia-Herzegovina (21), Iran (45), Nigeria (36)
Group G: Germany (2), Portugal (5), Ghana (24), USA (14)
Group H: Belgium (11), Algeria (26), Russia (22), Korea Republic (54)
Not sure how Brazil is as low as 10, nor how Greece is as high as 12.
Portugal is blatantly overrated. USA beats them and gets 2nd.

G is nowhere near the strongest. The two strongest groups are by far B and D.
I can't see how you could possibly say that Spain, Netherlands and Chile are weaker than Germany, Portugal and USA. All those three teams beat Portugal and USA.

Stupid ranking system. Brazil, being the hosts, haven't played many 'competitive' matches recently so haven't had the scope to pick up that many ranking points.
That said, it doesn't matter to them because they are the hosts, they get an automatic number one seeding anyway.
Also, despite not winning their group, Greece had a decent qualifying campaign. Coupled with a QF in the 2012 Euros, 12 in the rankings seems pretty fair. (despite them being a rather dour, negative team to watch)
We got the Group of Death.
Group A Winner and Runner up: Brazil and Mexico
Group B Winner and Runner up: Spain and Netherlands
Group C Winner and Runner up: Colombia and Ivory Coast
Group D Winner and Runner up: Italy and Uruguay
Group E Winner and Runner up: Switzerland and France
Group F Winner and Runner up: Argentina and Bosnia
Group G Winner and Runner up: Germany and Portugal
Group H Winner and Runner up: Belgium and Russia
Notes: Group D is the toughest group, followed by Group G. Argentina gets an easy walk to the round of 16. I feel sorry for the USA.
Averaging the rankings of each group yields -
G - 11.25
d - 14.25
c - 20.25
b - 21
e - 22.75
a - 24.25
f - 26.25
h - 28.25

Stick the moron with the erectile dysfunction harmony must have clicked on the thread because he thought it was about the Cross Country World Cup.
Sepp Blatter is Swiss. This is the second draw in a row he has rigged. Switzerland's qualifying group was against Norway, Slovenia, Iceland and Albania.
Tough group
I'm not as afraid of this group as maybe I should be. The US team is on a role. They dropped all the way to 36th as recently as July 2012 and we are now 14. That indicates that we are much, much better than our current ranking.
I've got us going 1-2-0, with the win coming against either Ghana or Portugal. Given this group, that would be more than enough to move on - likely because of goals for the tie breaker.
We're going to score some goals this World Cup thanks in large part to Klinsmann finally figuring out how to coach Americans. Now if we can just get better on the defensive side we'll be good to go.
I would have been more concerned if we took Chile's spot in Group B.
