Been running for a few weeks after discovering the tread mill. I enjoy it much more than a track or concrete because I feel I get more out of my run and can jog/run longer and work up more of a sweat than on a track or concrete because I feel I can push more and longer. I've been using basketball shoes because I didn't wanna dive in and buy a pair, then give up running a few days later. I've tried many times to get myself to start running, but this time feels different since I found a treadmill. So I'm ready to buy a pair of running shoes and maybe u guys can recommend a pair for my problem.
I've been doing two miles every day of the week and when I would just be getting done with the second mile, my right foot starts falling asleep. Now it didn't happen last time, but I think it might be due to lack of circulation because I tie my shoes pretty right since they come untied a lot, but I don't think they're still that tight to cut off circulation so I'm not sure. I've noticed that my right foot is not as flexible as my left. For example, if I'm sitting down and raise both my legs straight out and try to bring my toes toward me, my left foot comes easier than my right. But I can really feel the difference when running. When I'm running, I can lift my left foot up and down for a good stride, but with my right not so much. It doesn't lift as far and I land a little more flat footed than my left because it's like I'm picking up my foot with my leg, not my ankle.
Any recommendations for shoes that can fix this or help it get better? Is it due to weakness and if I keep going it will strengthen? Or is it due to maybe a prior injury that I didn't think was serious and it healed wrong or something?
Any recommendations would be appreciated and any tips about ANYTHING running would be greatly appreciated as well since I'm new to this!
Thanks guys!
