I'm currently running 60-70mpw training for a Marathon in January. I do almost all my runs in Adidas Boston 3's and 4's. The Boston 3's have over 400 miles and I have to retire them soon. I'm looking for another shoe to pair with the Boston 4's. I have tried the Sayonara which was the perfect amount of firmness, but the light stability in the shoe caused me to change my gait giving me some ankle/achillies issues after every time I wore them. I've tried the Kinvaras, Asics Excel 33s, Pure Flow, 890v3...all which are too soft for my liking. I like a firm shoe.
My question is does anyone train in so called 'racing flats'? RunBlogger really likes the NB 1400v2's and says they could be used for longer runs. I usually do 2 mid-long runs a week(13-15miles), along with a speed session(currently in Adios 2's), and a long run on the weekends( now in the 20+ range). Would the 1400's be a good choice? Or are they not enough shoe for the amount of miles? I also tried on the Adios Boost and really liked them. They are softer than my adios 2's. If anyone trains in the Adios Boost I would like their input as well... Could it be used as an everyday trainer?
Thanks, for any replies. I'm really struggling to find another shoe to partner up with the Boston 4's. The Energy Boost may be next for me to try, but I get good and bad reviews from runners who run in similar shoes as I do
