Brits, we don't have govt funding for Athletics in the US so the whole lottery thing is foreign to us.
How much does an athlete get in funding from the govt? Does everyone get the same?
Is there no income cap? Our Social Security doesn't have an income cap (it probably should) but it seems odd there wouldn't be one for athletics.
We're asking after reading this column where the writer basically slams Farah for being ungrateful and not doing the Commonwealth Games next year and wants his govt. funding removed.

We see it differently. Maybe remove his funding because he's rich but not because he should be running Commonwealths at this stage in his career.
