I eat a LOT of peanut butter. I've bought only Smuckers Chunky for years. The ingredients are peanuts and salt.
But maybe I'm missing something. What's your take on the best peanut butter? What is the worst peanut butter?

Check out Earth Balance
I love peanut butter too; I've had a peanut butter sandwhich in my lunch every day since kindergarten, in fact, I'm eating one right now!
Kraft now makes variations on peanut butter; there's on with nut and bananas in it, and another one with granola and cranberries. They are all fantastic.
I eat low-fat p.b. since I eat so much of it, but the regular stuff truly is the best.
Teddy, old-fashioned unsalted super chunky. Nuttin' but nuts.
Also my vote for worst would be Skippy. Sugar and hydrogenated oils? WTF? Peanut butter basically all fat, is it really necessary to add sugar too?
The best is the stuff you grind yourself at the co-op or natural foods grocery. I add a little salt when I get home.

^This.
You guys are making me feel bad for liking Peter Pan the most.
I thought I was being cool by buying the reduced fat Jif peanut butter.
I will be doing my walk of shame now.
I didn't know there's difference among different brands of PB 0.o
I've never had reduced fat PB. How does that compare to "original", is it kind of dry / chalky?
I like Skippy Natural Super Chunk, but have never tried Ted's or any other boutique micro brew PBs. Am I missing the peanut butter flavor explosion boat with those?

The best peanut butter is...
Homemade! Put roasted organic peanuts in the food processor, add a bit of sea salt, honey (and chocolate chips) and presto! You should add peanut oil to get it to the consistency you desire/prefer.
nutsupnorth.com
the best is the kind inside of Reece Cups.
Definitely not that Skippy shit
The only good peanut butter is dead peanut butter. Yuck.

Ughhhh I feel like I'm watching Portlandia
First of all... Props to that person for the portlandia comment. I lol'ed.
Second, I notice no difference between regular peanut butter and reduced fat peanut butter. Half the time when I make myself a sammich , I end up making another one. So I'm pretty sure that at this stage of the game the amount of peanut butter that I consume in a week would have made me obese already had I not been buying reduced fat for the last couple of years. Oh yeah, and it's not chalky at alll. Jif reduced fat ladies and gents!
I really like the Smucker's natural. I pretty much made the switch to the kind with just peanuts and salt after reading about hydrogenated oils being bad for you, which many of them have.
No complaints with the Smucker's.

Reduced fat has higher sugars in it like most reduced fat things. They take out the flavor and then try and make up for it by adding sugar. Reduced fat Jif is so sweet it's unreal! It's grainy and sweet. Not that it's bad but it knife tastes like candy. I do not like all natural peanut butter and Skippy is by far the worst tasting peanut butter. I love creamy Jif.
