We updated the story with this paragraph:

The London Times has an article entitled, "UK Athletics in a state of flux with exit of Terrence Mahon" which references the fact that another coach "has quit". The question is, did he quit because he wanted to leave or was forced to leave?
Also the big question is does he return to Mammoth? What's next for Mahon and Uceny and crew?
Why don't you ask them?
Double gold from Farah not enough?

We will try to do so.
This is the Internet age. We don't have the luxury of waiting until the next morning to get the news out or wait until the 6pm newscast. We're getting it out now and will seek to get a comment, interview with him now. I guess I could have put that fact in the story - we are reaching out for comment now.
Considering this broke this morning in the UK, and the London Times is covering, I'm not very optimistic we'll get a big statement from him but we will try. We live in an era of confidentiality agreements.
We plan to ask Terrence what is going on.
And we've now edited the end of the article: "Head coach Peter Eriksson left his post after 8 months on the job earlier this year to return to Canada. The question is, did Mahon quit because he wanted to return to the US, or did UK Athletics have a change in direction?"
Brief piece in Athletics Weekly.
Mahon has gotten back to us quickly.
I reached out to Mahon via email and asked him if he'd like to make a statement and asked him specifically:
"Why are you leaving after less than a year on the job? What's next for you and what about the athletes you were working with? Will they be returning the US as well?"
Mahon wrote back the following:

You should ask directly, did you get fired?
No comment always means there's more to the story
Can you ask him why he specifically mentioned Barry Fudge's work with Mo Farah.
Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but that could be a dig, as in saying that Barry plays such a crucial role, perhaps an illegal role.
Maybe mahon discovered the inner workings?

Who is Barry Fudge???
"Farah has been having massages, ice baths and resting as much as possible.
Part of that, Fudge reveals, has involved up to 12 hours sleep a day in an altitude tent. "I won't go into any details because it's our competitive advantage," Fudge says. "But we have a strategy to try to make sure his body still thinks it's at altitude."

Science superceding hard work.
So much technical crap - blood tests every month, haemoglobin, volume, testosterone..
If the east africans had this they'd be winning gold.

Why would you be testing testosterone unless you were using methods to manipulate T levels. Hello anyone?
Let's try not to read too much into it.
T. Mahon is man with incredible integrity and has a reputation of doing what is in the best interest of the athletes he's coaching.
From the Athletics Weekly article

:
Speaking of Mahon’s departure, UKA performance director Neil Black commented:
“We have some exciting plans for our endurance programme including some key opportunities for our home grown coaches going forwards, and I look forward to outlining these plans very soon.”
My unsubstantiated guess, Farah's success is seen as being down to Salazar, Fudge and who knows what or who else. So the "exciting plans for our endurance programme including some key opportunities for our home grown coaches going forwards" will be along those lines which are different to Mahon's coaching philosophy.
Here's hoping Morgan has a chat with Shannon Rowbury at the 5th Avenue Mile.

Not forgetting the notorious Doc Brown of course:
