Interesting...now it would be more interesting to know how fast he did it!!!

Also, the article linked an old LRC post about Kelly Pavlik's fitness.
I agree with the article in that Rocky II had by far the best training montage with all the hammmering away at pieces metal in the car scrapyard, chasing chickens, and Sly turning on the afterburners to out-kick a bunch of elementary school kids after jumping over some park benches. All the more impressive if it was at the end of a 30 mile run.
I am going with Rocky 4. Training in Russia by far the best.
Top boxers usually do a lot of roadwork to increase stamina; the LetsRun forum says Kelly Pavlik once won an award in a 10K the week of a fight.
That guy sure knows how to cite high quality authority.

Makes me want to run to the top of a mountain and yell "Drago".
You get some of that Russian training like in Rocky IV in NBC's profile of Aleksandr Karelin at the 2000 Olympics, the deep snow running and so on.
This training run was quite good too
The Rocky movies inspired my to get into training.
It wasn't just about the glory of the competition.
He made training cool and something that you wanted to do.
But those shoes ... Canvas Converse All Stars high tops.
How did he run in those?
I was a kid living near Philly at the time.
I heard that they just told a few kids to go run with him and then a bunch of kids saw them running by and just jumped in.
I would have loved to have been in that group.
So who's man enough to do this? Need a link to a GPS trace and a video of them dancing around at the top of the steps.
I don't get why V was considered so bad? I think IV then III were best.
This assumes the scene is of a single run, not a montage of multiple runs over several days.

Yo Adrian,
Did you bother to read the article that was linked in the original post? Both of those items have already been provided.
http://blogs.phillymag.com/the_philly_post/2013/09/18/rocky-training-run-rocky-ii/difficult to estimate pace, because he doesn't run close to an even pace.
you could estimate pace by counting strides per minute and estimate stride length from video.
Each scene he mostly jogs when no one is around and speeds up when going by crowds. So you'd want to estimate how crowded the streets would be with people in between scenes.
The fact that all those kids could keep up means he was keeping an easy pace and the all out at the end.
My estimate is 4 hours.

I was just realizing the other day that Rocky's two "sons" in the movie are both dead:
His real son, Sage Stallone (age 36, died 7/2012)
And his "adopted" son Tommy Morrison (age 44, died 9/2013)
Looks like there is a rumored "Rocky 7" called CREED on IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3076658/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1with Rocky Balboa and Paulie too.
I am far more impressed with his hurdling skills at the end of a 30 mile run. Great form for a tired boxer. Jager, watch out

Fartlek!
I must confess that this is my pacing style too. Must impress. Unfortunately I train on empty country roads. I don't know why I am getting slower.
hahaha nice. I do the same thing.
This thread made me do way to much research into Rocky's running. Tons of interesting trivia about his run in the first movie on IMDB.
It looks as if this run is being organized, for those who are interested:

With Mickey yelling from the infield, Rocky'd beat Farah. No chance? Rocky had no chance vs Apollo.
