...but can he break the 100+ record for the marathon, the holy grail of all sporting records.
I'd never heard of him before. I really enjoyed reading the article from 2010 that was linked to the story.

He's on the boards too?? I'd like to read his posts!

Well it would not make any sense for him to post under Ed Johnson or Ed Johannson would it?
So impressive and at 82 to run a 1:38:00. Congratulations on an epic performance.

That Indian guy who holds the 100+ WR does not have a birth certificate to back up his age. He is likely over 90 but is he really over 100? Doubt it.
Ed is a legend. Well done. Looking forward to see what he can do in his fall Marathon this year? Toronto I think...
seriously impressive. Most 82 year olds don't get around that well and have arthritis or other ailments.
HGH is one hell of a drug
Go away. Ed is all natural. It's hard dam# work.
^alexi pappas?
That's 7:29 pace!
I know guys in their 60's who used to run 32 min 10K's (5:15 miles) that can't run one 7:30 mile today.
I hope I'm able to run one 10 min mile when I reach 82.
Congrats Ed. We know you wanted to do better, but your good is better than most of our best.
I'd just like to see 82! Congrats Mr. Whitlock.
The question is this: How far out of reach will Geb put that record when he turns 80?
Great job, Ed. How is the year-round running up in Ontario?
Mr Whitlock is the MAN!
Congratulations and keep up the inspiring work!
Has anyone checked his birth certificate? Perhaps he is younger than he says he is.

Or perhaps he's a Muslim born in Kenya.
